Lawyers are the most despised professionals in the United States. A 2013 Pew survey found that only 18% of Americans believe attorneys contribute anything positive to society. Of course the same poll found that 78% of Americans unconditionally love military. That’s a conversation for another day. But just because most lawyers are sleazy, manipulative money grubs doesn’t mean there aren’t great ones who have perfected the art of litigation.
Jose Baez accomplished a great legal feat when he got Casey Anthony, a woman who likely murdered her own 2-year-old daughter, acquitted.
Johnnie Cochran exhibited unmatched excellence as a criminal defense attorney when he got O.J., a black man who likely killed two white people, acquitted of murder. We can even throw in Maricopa County prosecutor Juan Martinez as an exceptional lawyer. It has nothing to do with Jody Arias. It has everything to do with the five-year prison sentence for Phoenix killer cop Richard Chrisman.
All of these attorneys were victorious with the odds clearly and heavily stacked against them. Baez and Cochran established the core principle of “reasonable doubt” with their juries. Martinez convinced a cop-loving white Phoenix jury that Chrisman maliciously and wantonly killed Mexican Danny Rodriguez. These guys should be respected as attorneys. Avenatti has won several million dollars in judgments as an attorney, but so have thousands of other attorneys and firms. He’s nothing special as a litigator.
Let’s give credit where its due, however. Avenatti has played the perfect Donald Trump troll role. That is not an insult. Many people deeply hate Trump and love seeing someone figuratively hit the President below the belt. Avenatti addresses this market need, if you will. He has turned a porn star, Stormy Daniels, into a sympathetic figure in many people’s eyes. He had humanized a porn actress.
Many [white] women love him for that, judging from consistent positive feedback he gets from female Twitter users. There is also a voting bloc that likes seeing any semblance of accountability for Trump. Avenatti has the perceived-aura of a man who defends and protects women in the age of Trump misogyny.
But as much as Avenatti is loved by a liberal faction of America, he is equally hated by Trump Republicans. The fact Avenatti dignified Fox News tool Tucker Carlson by going on that program showed that he lacks sound judgment skills. Carlson coined the hashtag #CreepyPornlawyer. Expecting respect from Carlson was both arrogant and naive. But forget Carlson. Avenatti’s own past deeds have provided some credibility to the prevailing criticisms.
Avenatti’s law firm was recently evicted from its swanky, $50,000-per-month Orange County office space after he failed to pay rent for several months. A Los Angeles judge ordered Avenatti to pay a former colleague $4.85 million that same week. U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, is calling for a criminal investigation into Avenatti. But that’s just political B.S. and has nothing to do with reality.
Avenatti has spoken a lot about running for President in 2020. He toured Marshalltown, Iowa, and attended the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines this past summer to gauge the viability of his Presidential aspirations. He went from 500 Twitter followers in February of this year, to nearly 890,000 today. There is a loyal faction of white liberals who will likely make his Presidential candidacy a reality. But its unlikely to go far.
Trump has made right wing white supremacy trendy and cool again among the white masses. Attitudes may have changed slightly in the meantime, but 62% of voting white American males and 52% of voting white American females chose Trump in 2016. That means 57% of white Americans are down with Trump radical white extremism.
Liberals, meanwhile, have much better PR people and play the ally role to non-white Americans more effectively. But left wing white supremacy is just as manipulative as right wing white supremacy; perhaps more so. Avenatti has become more “out-of-the-closet” with his left wing white supremacist views and seems to have riled up his loyal white liberal fan base as a result. Avenatti is similar to Trump in a lot of ways. He panders exclusively to his base to stay confident and convey his potential agenda.
I’m a White Male and I’m Powerful
This is essentially what Avenatti told Time reporter Molly Ball. When asked specifically about why he is running for President, Avenatti said “I think it’s better to be a white male…when you have a white male making the arguments, they carry more weight.” He back-peddled on his comments in a typical, arrogant whiteboy fashion on Twitter after the article was published. But his full and likely deliberate exposure was already done.
Avenatti is the left-wing Trump. He’s not a 16-time accused rapist like Trump. But he certainly embraces his white-privileged position and will pout like Brett Kavanaugh when he doesn’t get what he feels he’s entitled too.
Avenatti’s ex-wife, Lisa Storie-Avenatti, revealed the petulant nature of her ex-husband.
She said in court documents obtained by right wing website The Daily Caller, that Avenatti was “verbally aggressive.” She’s also said that Stormy Daniels is the reason their divorce is still not final, long after Storie-Avenatti changed the locks on the couple’s former $17 million beachfront house.
Storie-Avenatti later clarified with the Daily Mail that Michael was a good father and never physically threatened her. But this vote of confidence from his ex-wife didn’t curtail his arrogance. Avenatti, appearing to be unhappy with his wife’s statements, told the Daily Mail in May:
“There are a host of things that I could disclose relating to Lisa, her habits and the circumstances around her filing but I will decline to do so at this time as she is the mother to my son and I do not think it is appropriate to malign her.”
Trump has made opportunist, arrogant whiteboys who disrespect women, cool again. MAGA means Antebellum America with slave black people and indentured servant wives. There are enough white women who value white supremacy more than self-respect, along with left wing white supremacist men, to carry Avenatti to a 2020 Presidential run.
Pandering to liberal homosexual culture
“LGBT” is the most critical voting bloc for liberals in national and statewide elections. If you don’t win the homosexual vote, you don’t win elections as Democrats in most jurisdictions. Former Sex and the City star and former candidate for New York Governor, Cynthia Nixon, was made the political example for liberals who aren’t die-hard homosexual sympathizers and parakeets of LGBT talking points.
Nixon seemed to be the perfect Democrat candidate to take down an establishment, family dynasty Democrat like Andrew Cuomo in New York. She is an idealistic woman who happens to have a “wife.” This latter fact alone typically locks up the white liberal vote. But Nixon made a big mistake years prior that white liberals would not forgive.
Nixon said she chose to be homosexual back in 2012, and was not born that way. White liberal groups and feminists attacked her relentlessly for speaking contrary to their established talking point that all homosexuals are born homosexual. Nixon initially stood her ground and doubled down on her declaration in a Hollywood Reporter interview:
“I am very annoyed about this issue. Why can’t it be a choice? Why is that any less legitimate? It seems we’re just ceding this point to bigots who are demanding it, and I don’t think that they should define the terms of the debate.”
Nixon gubernatorial aspirations heated up a few years later and she was forced to “clarify” her statement via homosexual news site, the Advocate, in February of 2016:
“While I don’t often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual. I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact”
Avenatti watched President Barack Obama maintain glowing approval ratings from the white liberal base throughout his Presidency by pandering to homosexual culture. He also watched Nixon’s demise. As of publishing, Avenatti has a pinned tweet since August 27 that outlines his positions on “20 key issues.” He smartly asserts the proverbial white liberal agenda by casually-equating homosexual culture with being black.
The homosexual agenda is the uniting political talking point for white liberals, similar to how radical white extremism and false gods unite Trump Republicans. Avenatti does not have to say much about the issue. But his words and the juxtaposition thereof, are very clever for an aspiring Democratic politician.
Avenatti is solidifying his liberal white supremacist base by equating their homosexual culture with the torture, rape, manipulation, and human trafficking diaspora Africans have endured for 400 years at the hands of white people. He’s playing politics well and deserves credit where its due.
Could Avenatti Win The Nomination?
No. There’s no reason to even beat around the bush about it. Democrats win elections by monopolizing the black vote, winning 60% of the Latino vote, and dominating the female vote.
Avenatti’s blatant white-entitled male statements will rub enough women the wrong way to foil his aspirations. He lost a lot of credibility with black voters who love Obama and view Avenatti’s comments as dismissive and disrespectful to the former President. Further, his divorce, bad business dealings, and million-dollar debts that make him the left-wing Trump will turn off anyone who is already tired of Trump himself.
Avenatti’s poorly-veiled left wing white supremacist views will carry him to a legitimate candidacy if he can ward off all the personal problems. Any arrogant white male with money can run for public office and garner attention. But Avenatti appears to be doing his enemies’ work for them with his own personal missteps and baggage.
