Daniel Houlihan Car Accident: A man in his 20s who died following a collision between a taxi and a pedestrian in Kerry in the early hours of Saturday morning has been named locally.
Daniel Houlihan, aged 24, died after being struck by a taxi shortly after 2am on the R553 at Ballydonohoe, Lisselton near Ballybunion.
He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later and his body was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry.

It is understood Mr. Houlihan had been out celebrating the Listowel Racing festival and was on route home when the event occurred.
The driver, a man in his 40s, did not require medical treatment.

The scene was sealed off for a forensic examination and traffic diversions were put in place.
Funeral details for Daniel have been announced and will take place at his parents residence in Clounprohus, Moyvane, V31 V070, on Friday.
The house will be open from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29.
Daniel will be laid to rest on Saturday morning in Gale Cemetery, following his requiem mass at St. Teresaâs Church in Ballydonoghue at 11 a.m.
The family has noted that a one-way traffic system will operate on the evening of the funeral, with traffic asked to approach via the Clounmacon football pitch.
Predeceased by his grandparents Johnny and Bridget Houlihan, Daniel will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his parents Aidan and Theresa, sisters Emma and Rebecca and grandparents Dan and Mary Keane.
He is also dearly remembered by his uncles Donie, Johnny, Donal and Eddie, aunts Catriona, Breda and Marion, granduncles, grandaunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Local Sinn FĂ©in Councillor Tom Barry expressed his condolences to the family, adding: âOur thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, and everyone else in the community.â
âThe whole community is in shock,â he said.
Listowel Emmets, with whom Daniel played as goalkeeper for many years, extended their heartfelt condolences to the Houlihan family.
In a statement posted to their Facebook page, the club described Daniel as âan all-around nice guy, kind and unassuming with a roguish smile and will be sadly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing himâ.
âMay the sod rest lightly on the gentlest of souls, Ar dheis DĂ© go raibh a hâanam dĂlis,â they added.
GardaĂ in Listowel appealed for any witnesses to contact them, particularly any road users with camera or dashcam recordings, from the R553 between Ballybunion and Listowel between 130 a.m. and 2.15 a.m. this morning.
