Eliza Grover Obituary: Goucher College student identified as pedestrian fatally struck on Providence Road in Towson; Richard Mays arrest & charges.

Following a fatal pedestrian accident on Providence Road in Towson, an arrest has been made.

On Saturday around 4:20 p.m., officers from the Baltimore County Police Department were called to the 800 block of Providence Road in response to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a car. Officers responded and discovered that Eliza Grover, 24, had been on the pavement when she was struck by a Ford F250.

Tragically, Grover was pronounced dead at the scene.

Richard W. Mays, the 57-year-old driver of the Ford F250, stayed on the scene. His arrest followed further investigations into other allegations, including attempting to operate a car without an ignition interlock, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Mays is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Centre without being allowed to post bail.
