The woman who was killed in a crash over the weekend in Clearview Township that also injured a number of other people, including a newborn and kid, has been named.

In a statement released on Monday, representatives of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) confirmed that the crash on Saturday claimed the life of 31-year-old Katie Marshall, a member of the security team at the hospital in Barrie.

Marshall was killed in the crash, her husband, Brody, was seriously injured and their two dogs also died.

The collision happened on Saturday, September 23, before 8 a.m. at 3-4 Sideroad Sunnidale and Concession Road 9 Sunnidale in Clearview. Marshall was on her way to work at the Barrie hospital, report says.

Katie was known for her natural ease around horses and her friendly nature with humans.

Katie, you sure made a huge impact on our community from the very beginning,” NBHA Canada wrote in a Facebook post. “Whether it was words of encouragement for a beginner, to hopping the fence when someone was in trouble or hurt. Katie had a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. We are thankful to have shared many years of memories in the barrel pen with such an amazing young woman.”
