Police were called for a welfare check on Jenean Chapman, who was discovered dead in her downtown Dallas residence at 1:15 p.m., according to the department. Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and ex-wife of the disgraced Prince Andrew, posted on Instagram, “I am shocked and saddened to learn that Jenean Chapman, who worked with me as my personal assistant many years ago, has been murdered in Dallas at just 46 years old.”
“My heart breaks for her family and friends. Jennifer was loyal, hardworking, beautiful, and fun.”Just a few months ago, when I first heard about her, she seemed to be in great spirits. Regarding the specifics of Chapman’s murder, police have been mum. Her passing was initially deemed “unexplained” before being reclassified as a homicide the following day.
The same day, James Patrick, 48, was named a suspect, although he was already 200 miles away in Austin. He was apprehended by University of Texas police and was returned to Dallas.
His family members confirmed that Patrick was Chapman’s spouse and noted that their marriage had previously been abusive. The past few days have been the worst days of my life, period. Recently, my sister was brutally killed after suffering physical violence.

“Even though she is no longer physically present, her brightness will live on in our memories of her and in our hearts. Sister, you are very loved and missed, and I wish they wouldn’t take her away from us so quickly. Patrick was a distant relative of Chapman’s, but they were aware of the danger the couple’s relationship posed.

Three months after moving to Dallas so Chapman could start a new job, the couple, who had known each other for six years, had just been married for two months. The relationship was poisonous, at most, Nicole Chapman, sister, told BNC Dallas Fort Worth. We were startled because the relationship had previously been sporadic.
We were cognizant of how challenging it was. She told our mother about the marriage, and of course she told us. Needless to say, we weren’t expecting it.
